The Made in Japan International Color Series revisits a rare coordinate in the logbooks of Fender® history and puts a bright, unique and beloved series back on the map. The bold and captivating International Color collection originally debuted over four decades ago and was produced for less than one year. Introduced in 1981 with appointments steeped in ‘70s style alongside a fresh palette of colors named for exotic and provocative spots on the map, the International Colors are now coveted by collectors and prized for their exotic beauty and rarity. Available once again in a fittingly limited run, the Made in Japan International Color Series combines vibrant vintage Fender vibe with Made in Japan craftsmanship to produce a transcontinental treasure.

Changing course from the traditional blueprint, these basses boast resonant basswood bodies, 9.5” radius maple fingerboards and medium jumbo frets to accommodate more adventurous playing. The ‘70s “U” shape neck is outfitted just like the original with elegant binding and white pearloid blocks, convenient Bullet style truss rod nut, three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt™ mechanism and even the serial number on the headstock face. Vintage-style single-coil Jazz Bass® pickups and 4-saddle bridge with single groove saddles deliver iconic Fender tone and feel.
